Know your kit. See what works.
Ponger is a notebook for table tennis players who care about their equipment. You record the blade and rubbers you play with, log your training and your matches, and Ponger keeps count of the hours on every rubber and shows which changes moved your results. It works on iPhone and iPad.
Each bat has its blade, a forehand and a backhand rubber, and a timeline of every change you make to it. Ponger counts the hours you play on each sheet and the days since it was glued, and tells you when it is due for a change. The Kit tab also has a hardness converter for European, Japanese and Chinese scales, an estimate of what your assembled bat weighs, and a catalogue of popular blades and rubbers so you rarely have to type a name.
Logging a session takes a few taps, with its type, length, drills, partner and how it felt. Twelve drills come with an interval timer. Serve practice counts your good and missed serves, so you can watch the hit rate for each serve climb over the weeks.
The scoreboard follows the real rules, from two serves each to the expedite rule. It tells you when to change ends and saves the match when it is over. Every opponent has a head-to-head record, and a page for scouting notes and a plan for the next time you play them.
Hours played per week and this year's totals are always there. With Ponger Pro you also see your results by bat, before and after your last change, by opponent style and backhand rubber, by rubber age and by how much you trained in the week before.
Everything you need day to day is free, with no time limit. That covers one bat with its rubber history, the session log, drills and timers, serve practice, the scoreboard, your matches and opponents, ratings, the tools and iCloud sync. Ponger Pro is a subscription that adds more bats, rubber reminders, scouting notes, point tagging and the insights that explain your results.
Ponger has no advertising, analytics or tracking, and you don't need an account. What you enter stays on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own iCloud account.
