Privacy policy

Ponger privacy policy

Effective October 8, 2026. This policy covers the Ponger app and this website.

Ponger does not collect your data. There is no analytics, no advertising, no behavioral tracking and no third-party software development kit in the app. Ponger has no server and no account. Nobody working on Ponger can see what you enter.

Where your information is kept

Everything you enter is stored in Ponger on your device. If "Sync with iCloud" is on, the same records also go to your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so your other iPhone and iPad can show them. Apple stores that database, and only your Apple Account can read it. Turn sync off in Ponger's Settings to keep your records on the device alone. A match in progress on the scoreboard is kept in a small file on the device until you save or discard it, and it is never synced.

What is stored

Ponger keeps your bats, blades and rubbers with their glue dates and any prices you enter, your training sessions and serve practice, your matches with their scores and points, the ratings you note down, and the names and notes you write about the people you play. Those notes stay private to you, and Ponger never shares them. Ponger doesn't use the camera, your photos, your contacts or your location. Rubber reminders are scheduled on the device, and nothing is sent anywhere to deliver them.

Training, competitions, and device surfaces

Ponger also stores planned practice, custom drills, session reviews, local competition entries and results, equipment experiments, and equipment snapshots. Practice timers and unfinished serve counts are saved locally for recovery.

A minimal snapshot of your next practice is shared with the Ponger widget through an App Group on your device. Live Activities can show player names, scores, drill names, and timer state on your Lock Screen. You control Live Activities in iOS Settings. These surfaces do not send your records to the developer.

When you choose Export or Share, iOS sends the selected files to the destination you choose. Competition result sheets can include player names. Review the content and destination before sharing.

Payment

Purchases are handled by Apple. Ponger never sees your payment details. The app uses verified purchase records to check subscription access.

Deleting everything

Settings in Ponger has a "Delete all data" control that removes every bat, rubber, session, serve set, match, opponent note, rating, planned practice, drill, competition, experiment, and equipment snapshot from the device and, with sync on, from your iCloud and your other devices. Deleting the app also removes its local data.

Who is responsible
